The Low Carbon Buildings Programme offered grants to homeowners that took part in several energy efficiency measures. These measures were aimed at reducing household energy requirements as much as possible and maximising the benefits offered by using microgeneration technology.
The Low Carbon Buildings Programme requirements included:
- Complete insulation of your home’s loft under current UK building regulations
- In homes with cavity walls, installation of cavity wall insulation
- Purchase and installation of low energy light bulbs
- Installation of heating system controls including a programmer system and thermostat
While the Low Carbon Buildings Programme is no longer active, many of the benefits offered by the LCBP have been implemented in the government’s new Renewable Heat Premium Payment Phase 2. Click here to learn more about the options available under the government’s new voucher system for homeowners.
