At Cersaie 2026, VitrA Tiles presented The Code concept and its latest product developments to trade specialists, framing them through its Material Intelligence approach.
Bologna, Italy: VitrA Tiles took part in Cersaie 2026, the international trade show for ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings, staged in Bologna, Italy from September 21-25, where it welcomed architects, designers, clients and trade professionals to its stand. Built on the Material Intelligence concept, the stand displayed the 2027 collections and product innovations engineered by VitrA Tiles.
“Every material has a code. Material Intelligence deciphers it.” This principle sits at the heart of how VitrA Tiles approaches design, recasting raw materials found in nature by uniting research, cutting-edge production technology and design know-how. Building on the visual and technical qualities of natural matter, VitrA Tiles processes these materials into distinctive surfaces that open fresh creative directions for contemporary architecture.

Three Material Vocabularies
Through The Code concept, three separate design languages give rise to the Resincode, Geocode and Metacode collections, which visitors to Cersaie can examine first hand on the VitrA Tiles stand.
Resincode takes its cue from the porous, mineral-laden grain of raw concrete, with organic shifts and stratified surface effects that give contemporary interiors a pared-back, balanced and refined finish. Geocode references Spanish limestone and marble, together with quartzite and gneiss, transferring the varied geological legacy of natural stone onto ceramic surfaces in a contemporary reading, across four separate surface formats, namely Alba, Imperio, Rio and Merano. Metacode, produced in three surface finishes with copper, iron and gold tones, reproduces the gentle tonal shifts and muted reflections of patinated metal on ceramic surfaces, marrying an industrial edge with refined elegance.

Advanced Production Technologies
Alongside the new ranges, VitrA Tiles also used Cersaie 2026 to present its V-Flex and V-Tone developments.
Built on Välinge’s Ceraloc® locking technology, V-Flex is a tile fitting system that needs no adhesive at all. Its specially engineered edge profiles let the tiles interlock mechanically, meaning installation can be up to five times quicker than with traditional bonded tiling. The system delivers accurate alignment, uniform grout joints and a neat, professional result. Where necessary, single tiles can be lifted out and swapped, a considerable benefit that streamlines upkeep and repair work. It also contributes to acoustic comfort. V-Flex is advised for shops and store chains, showrooms, hotels, offices, educational buildings and commercial premises.

Addressing shade variation in ceramic production, V-Tone preserves colour uniformity and design coherence from one surface to the next. Work to build V-Tone technology into the manufacturing lines of VitrA Tiles is ongoing.
