Following approval from the European Commission on State Aid, the Low Carbon Buildings Programme will be holding the Stream 2 funding rounds from September 2006 to September 2007. This funding stream was open to both public sector and private sector applicants alike.
The stream 2 fund was comprised of two categories:
- Stream 2A - was allocated over five funding rounds (subject to the availability of funds). Maximum grant of £100k or 40-50% of total costs (excl. VAT). There were quarterly deadlines for stream 2A applications. Stream 2A is now closed for applications.
- Stream 2B - was allocated over three funding rounds (and one reserve round) Maximum grant of £1m or 40-50% of total costs (excl. VAT). Deadlines for applications were quarterly. Stream 2B is now closed for applications.
Stream 2A

The final round of Stream 2A of the Low Carbon Buildings Programme was held on the 28th of September 2007.
Stream 2 was a competitive assessment process and only exemplary schemes could expect to get funding. All applications (both 2A & 2B) were assessed by an independent panel. Applicants that were successful demonstrated that they have addressed the energy efficiency of their building and are delivering a cost effective and well planned scheme to which they are fully committed.
Stream 2B
Is now closed for applications.
Stream 2B of the Low Carbon Building Programme consisted of 4 rounds of applications the last of which has now closed. Applications by community and public sector organisations can still be made through Phase 2 of the programme.
